PROGRAMME
AREAS
Based on its mission,
its mandate, its historical involvement, its capabilities
and the present priorities of politics in Namibia,
the Foundation has defined its current main areas of
intervention in Namibia to be
by taking into account that in
a rapidly globalising world, Namibia as a small country
of just 2 million people on its own cannot meet all
of the major challenges it is confronted with.
This
is why the region, in particular the Southern African
Development Community (SADC) sub-region, where Namibia
is a member, has become an increasingly important
terrain for institution building, policy development,
standard-setting and exchange of experience on common
challenges. With this in mind, activities in the
Southern African
regional programme tend to rapidly gain in
importance in comparison to purely national ones.
